This is an iron kettle from Oshu/Iwate Prefecture [Nanbu Tekki]. Nanbu iron kettles have excellent heat conductivity and heat retention due to their uniform thickness. Iron content dissolves into the hot water boiled in an iron kettle, giving it a mellow taste. Due to its beautiful appearance, it can be used not only as a tool but also as an interior decoration. OIGEN's iron kettles undergo a more traditional rust prevention process using a kettle firing process. Also, since the interior is unpainted unglazed pottery, it is easier for more detailed scale to build up, so you can enjoy growing your own iron kettle.
