[Hanten description (general purpose)]
Kurume cotton-padded hanten jackets have become a local industry in Kurume along with the textile industry.
It is said that it began in the 1950s when wholesalers in Kurume asked weavers to produce the fabric.
The secret to its warmth is the filling made specifically for hanten quilts, which is a generous blend of cotton produced by a long-established futon manufacturer.
It has excellent heat retention and moisture absorption properties, and once you put it on, it instantly absorbs body heat and approaches the highest temperature of the human body.
Another feature is that it recovers in fluffiness when dried in the sun, and hanten made from a single piece of cotton are supple and feel comfortable against the skin.
[Literature]
The kasuri pattern that has been worn on kimonos by students and literary figures since ancient times is called bunjin.
Our bunjin pattern is created by weaving mokuito yarn (threads of different colors twisted together) into a small checkered pattern.
It was originally a pattern for men, but now it is often used for women's clothing as well.
