The MB-N12 Power Pack extends the Z 8's battery life by approximately 1.8 times and improves operability when shooting in portrait orientation. It features hot-swap functionality, USB power delivery, and the same high durability as the Z 8, making it ideal for long-term shooting such as day-long events.
[Extend Z 8 battery life by approximately 1.8 times] The camera can accommodate two EN-EL15c* rechargeable Li-ion batteries, extending battery life by approximately 1.8 times compared to the Z 8 body alone (with one EN-EL15c battery). This allows you to focus on shooting without worrying about battery life. The EN-EL15b and EN-EL15a (both discontinued) can also be used, but the number of frames and video recording time that can be taken on a single charge will be fewer than the EN-EL15c.
[Supports hot swapping and USB charging] Even if one of the two batteries is removed, the remaining battery continues to supply power as long as there is remaining charge. This hot swap function allows you to replace the battery without interrupting shooting. It also supports both charging and powering via USB via the EH-7P or EH-8P AC Adapter*1 (both sold separately). This is convenient for capturing still images and videos*2 all day long, such as during interviews or events, or for long-duration interval timer shooting. Furthermore, the MB-N12 can charge the battery even when it is not attached to the camera. To use the EH-8P, the USB cable UC-E25 (sold separately) is required. Video recording may stop due to an overheating of the camera.
Ergonomic design for comfortable vertical shooting: The camera is equipped with a shutter button, AF-ON button, Fn button, main and sub-command dials, and multi-selector, all convenient for vertical shooting. The shutter button, dials, and AF-ON button are all designed to feel just like the camera itself, providing the same operability as the camera itself. The ergonomic grip also ensures a secure hold, even when a long, heavy super-telephoto lens is attached.
[Dust- and splash-proof performance equivalent to the Z 8] The MB-N12 has the same robustness and dust- and splash-proof performance* as the Z 8 body. As a camera system, it can handle a variety of shooting conditions and delivers high performance in a variety of shooting scenes. However, complete dust- and splash-proof performance cannot be guaranteed under all conditions.
